Thanks for Your Patience!

Hello Penguins!

As you know, we have been testing a new server for the last few weeks and we believe we have squashed almost all of the bugs. Now comes the next step of taking the test server and making it the full East and West Coast servers.

If all goes well, it will be a easy transition. If we have any problems, Club Penguin might go down for a little while so we can fix them. We just ask for your patience during this process.

In other news: Unfortunately, members will need to redecorate their igloo once we have moved over to the new server. We plan to launch an igloo decorating contest on Thursday to help inspire your new igloo creations.

Thanks for all your help so far! We hope you all enjoy the new server!

Until then... Waddle On!

Sledding Mania!!

Hello Penguins!

We just wanted to thank you again for a great party over the weekend! We broke all kinds of records and we couldn't have done it without you. Also, thanks for putting up with the crowds. That is one of the main reasons we are testing this new server so that in the future it won't slow down as much.

In other news: We need your help testing the new sledding game. We have added a few improvements that we think you will all like. Please help us by playing sledding on the test server and then reporting any bugs you find.

Until then... Waddle On!

Aloha Penguins!

Aloha Penguins!

I hope you are all enjoying the luau! We had a lot of fun putting together this party. This also happens to be the first party that has a different dance move, but I don't want to give away that secret. :) Just so you know this party is already breaking records for the most amount of people ever in Club Penguin at the same time.

Anyway, the test server continues to go well. Mancalla bugs are almost gone, and we just launched the sledding game. Please help us test the sledding the same way you helped us test Mancalla.

Thanks again for all your help with test the new server.

Game Testers Needed!

CpdbMancallapic.jpg

Hello Penguins!

As we are nearing the finish line on the new test server we are finally adding in some of the games. They may look the same on the outside, but they are brand new code on the inside that allows us to do some very cool things.

Some of you may have noticed one of the coolest new features that we've added, "watching!" That's right, now you can watch a game in progress and cheer on your friends! It will also help you learn the games if they are still new to you.

We have already begun to squash some bugs in the games, but we need your help to find them all. Please make bug reports as detailed as possible so we can squash them once and for all!

In other news: We are working on sledding right now hoping to have that launched in the next few days. After that we are finishing up the new board game.... wait... I've said to much already.

Until then... Waddle On!

Test Server Update!

Hello Penguins,

Sorry for the delay in the news area, but we have been very busy squashing bugs and working on new games.

Anyway, we have successfully squashed a few more bugs and we are working hard to get the games into the test server. It is taking longer than we thought, be we are adding some really cool features that we're sure you'll like. We'll let you know once those are launched.

Because of the delay, we decided to hide another clothing item somewhere in the test server. This one is a bit tricky so you'll have to look hard for it. But it is a brand new item so even members will have fun finding this one. Good luck!

Until then... Waddle On!

Mega-bug Squashing!

Hello Penguins!

I just wanted to post a quick update about how the bug squashing has been going on the test server. Rsnail has been working long hours squashing bugs. Here are the details...

Bug's that are squashed:

  • Blue Circle bug
  • Bowtie not working on normal servers
  • Hockey Rink issues

Bug's we're still working on:

  • Moonwalking (facing one direction and walking another)
  • Sliding (moving across the screen without walking)

We need your help to squash these bugs. Please report how you are able to do the bug so we can get it fixed. Thanks!

We are also working hard on the games so we can get those tested soon. We'll launch them on the test server as soon as we can.

In other news: Check out the newspaper to see the next big party announcement!

Until then... Waddle On!

We Need Your Help!

Hello Penguins!

We are happy to announce that the new test server has been launched! You can find it by clicking on the link under the Club Penguin login screen.

We know that there will be bugs and we have already begun working on them. But please help us by reporting any bugs you find in as much detail as possible including the room you were in and what you were doing when the bug happened. If you are able to make it happen over and over please describe how you do it.

Many of you will notice a speed difference and you should because this is a big update to the code. Thanks for all your patience and help!

The faster we can find and fix all the bugs, the faster we can begin releasing new games.

For helping us, we have hidden one clothing item in the test server that both members and non-members can have! Good luck finding it!

Until then... Waddle On!

New Furniture!

CpdbCatalog-pic.jpg

Hello Penguins!

We released the new catalog and it is already getting great reviews. Some of you may be wondering why we released it early. This month, the 15th was on a Sunday and we didn't think it was much fun to release all this new stuff after the weekend was over, so we pushed ahead to give you a few extra days of decorating. We hope you enjoy it!

In other news, the new test server should be up next week, we'll announce it when its launched.

Until then, Waddle On!

Where is Rsnail?

Hello Penguins!

Many of you have been wondering why you haven't seen Rsnail online in a while. We thought we would let you in on a little behind the scenes info of what he's been working on.

Other than working on new games and new art, Rsnail has been hard at work late into the night on the last and final "rebuild" of the Club Penguin program code. Our goal is to make Club Penguin as fun and fast as possible. Rather than just keep working on little pieces of it here and there, we decided to dive in and make the whole thing as fast as possible.

We're nearing the final stages of this process and this means we will probably launch a test server again. Yes, this also means we will give away a few clothing items to those who help us test on the server, but we will talk more about that later.

Anyway, once this is done, we will be able to focus all of our energy on making even more games, rooms, and other great additions to Club Penguin.

We just wanted to keep all you Penguins up to date...

Until then... Waddle On!

New Clothing!

Cpdbccatpic.jpg

Hello Penguins!

Just wanted to let you all know that the new catalog has been out for a few days now. So far it seems the suede jackets are a big hit!

Here is an interesting fact for you. Currently there are over 25,000 different color and clothing combinations that are possible with more being added every month.

Bug Squashing!

Hello Penguins!

We had some big bugs squashed this week and fixed a few of the little things that have been tough to find. Anyway here goes...

Fixed Moon walking We know some of you had fun with this, but others were mad that they didn't know the bug so we finally squashed it.

Fixed Mancala End Game Bug This one was tricky so it took some time, but its fixed now.

Fixed Stuck Bug Some penguins would get stuck when they first walked into a room. We think we have squashed most of them, but let us know if it still happens and where it happens.

Fixed Top 2 Lounge Chairs Now your penguin will finally be able to sit automatically! Ahh the miracles of science!

That's all for now, we'll have more news in the coming days.

Until then, Waddle On!
