Activation Help!
Hello Penguins,We have had some people who are having trouble getting their activation codes. We have learned that Yahoo and Hotmail will almost always dump the activation email into the "Bulk" folder or the "Junk" folder. Please check those folders in your email program to find the activation code.
We have also learned that a lot of people enter email addresses that don't exist or that dont recieve email. Please make sure you enter a valid email address.
Also, you must activate your account (through the email) before you can get onto Club Penguin. This has changed from Penguin Chat. If you have tried everything and you still can get on, try this:
Try to login and when you get to the page with that says "Activation Required" Please click on "lost your code" to get it resent.
If that still doesn't work, send an email to [email protected]
Thanks for your patience with this.

Attention Penguins!
Hello Penguins!Just two more days until launch!! Please make sure you have activated your account. We will give you until one week after launch and then we will delete all non-activated accounts. Because of all the cloning, there are almost 10 accounts for every beta tester! That means a lot of names and penguins that are being wasted.
If you have successfully logged into Club Penguin in the last two weeks you don't need to worry, but if you haven't yet, please do as soon as possible.
If you are still having trouble activating an account, please send an email to [email protected] and we will work to get that figured out for you.
Thanks and Waddle-on!

A little confusing...
When we added account authentication there was a feature added that allows parents of young children to restrict chatting to "easy-chat" only. We later realized that it automatically went to that method unless you changed it, so if you didn't read it and select the other method, you won't be able to chat.So here's what to do if you meant to select "open-chat".
1. Log Into Club Penguin
2. Click on the "?" button in the menu bar

3. Click on the "edit account" button

4. Click on the "Safe Chat Level"

5. Please read and select the correct one. If a "parent password" box comes up, it means you entered a password into that box when you set up your account. You will need to enter the same password again to make the change.
Sorry for the confusion, hope this helps!

Membership Info.
Hello Penguins! As we are nearing the end of the Club Penguin Beta Test, we are finally ready to release the details of what Club Penguin membership will include, and what you'll receive as a "thank-you" for helping test Club Penguin. We have tried our best to make it as fair as possible. The best thing is that even the free areas of Club Penguin will still be better and include more than Penguin Chat ever did. So here goes:
What Do I Get For Free?
- You get to choose and name your penguin
- You get to chat with other Penguins
- You get unlimited time in Club Penguin
- You get to play most games
- You get to earn coins (in case you want to become a member later)
- You get to visit your buddies igloos
- You get to be agents
- You get to have fun!
What do Members Get? (including all the above items)
- You get your own igloo
- You get to purchase clothing
- You get to buy furniture for your igloo
- You get to buy items for future games
- You get access to all of Club Penguin
What do Beta Testers Get?
- You get one free month of membership starting from launch
- You get 2,000 free coins for helping test Club Penguin
- You get to keep the party hat (if you attended the party)
- You get to brag to all your friends that you were one of the first to play Club Penguin!
We know that some of you will be unhappy about this, but we hope that most of you understand that we need to cover the costs of running Club Penguin and making it even better in the future. A lot of sites would just have a 7 day trial or something, but we didn't want to kick anyone out of Club Penguin for not becoming a member. We hope you know how thankful we are for your help and we would hope that all of you would someday become members.
Yours truly,
- Club Penguin Team
P.S. We will announce the official launch date soon!

Hallelujah!
Hello Penguins! We finally launched the account activation tool. Please read the instructions and follow them closely. Everyone must activate their account in order to use Club Penguin. Please make sure you only activate the account that you want to keep, all other accounts will be deleted soon. If you have any problems, please submit them to the bug report, we don't want to fill the news section with bug reports.
This was a big step toward launch. We have a few more issues to deal with, but this was one of the biggest. Thanks again for your patience.
Sincerely,
- Club Penguin Team

Good News and Bad News...
Whenever someone asks me that, I always want to hear the bad news first so here goes.Over the last couple of weeks, we have been battling with how to handle this whole cloning problem. Some of you may be wondering "what cloning problem?" Well, when someone sets up multiple accounts its called cloning. Its one thing to have one or two, but many people have set up a lot more accounts. It is a problem for many reasons.
1- It uses up resources and slows down the whole chat. Because one person is taking up so much server power, it makes it worse for everyone
2- It makes it difficult to remove bad players. The agents and moderators have been doing a great job reporting when people are acting un-safe or using bad language. Unfortunately, we have watched a lot of people get kicked or banned and then just log in under a different account and keep breaking the rules. This wrecks it for everyone and makes us consider just using easy-chat only (which we tried for 12 hours last week).
3- It slows down development. When we are trying to manage accounts and someone has been cloning, it takes a lot more time, which means less time for making new games, etc.
Because of this slow-down, we probably wont hit our 2-week goal for launch and we didn't want to launch until this was dealt with.
Now for the good news, we have found a solution and rsnail and the team are working frantically (almost 20 hr days) to get it programmed and tested. It will require accounts to be authenticated using emails. Those of you who have ever played neo-pets will know what we are talking about. Basically it is the best way to solve this problem and it should be launched soon.
Thanks for your patience and we hope the wait hasn't been too painful. We will announce more details like the memberships soon. Until then, waddle-on!
Yours truly,
Club Penguin Team
